Elite Squads Program Being part of the Brisbane Academy of Dance Performance Group teams is a very exciting accomplishment for any of our students to achieve. Our performanceteams commence from 6 & under up to Opens. Our students are invited from our syllabus classes to become part of these highly-accomplished teams. Every performance group team showcases each individual student’s talents at competitions whilst instilling team spirit to all its members. The students included in our performance group teams are given the opportunity to further extend their technique and ability beyond their normal syllabi classes. Being part of the Performance Group teams at the Brisbane Academy of Dance improves every student’s technique, as well as teaching them incredible attributes including self -confidence, performance abilities and the importance of unity, precision of movement and teamwork.
"Emily has been a member of Performance Groups at BAD since she was six years old and has enjoyed her experience immensely. Being part of a team has taught Emily many life lessons such as commitment, dedication and camaraderie. I know for sure, Emily has made lifelong friends with her dance buddies! She has felt a sense of pride representing her dance school at competitions and events. Performance groups, solos and duos have given Emily the opportunity to become more confident in herself and her dance. Emily was just like any other six-year-old dancer, except she maybe had a little more sass than some! However, as soon as she began participating in eisteddfod groups her technique and performance skills started improvingbeyond what I ever imagined she would be able to do at such a young age. She has participated in theeisteddfod groups from 2004, every year up to today and she’s been challenged in each and every routine, allowing her to develop the important skills sheneeds to become the professional dancer she aspires to be. Over theyears she advanced andflourished under all the teachers at Brisbane Academy of Dance; they taught her everything she knows and without their expertise and knowledge she would not be the dancer she is today." - Sonya

Our Performance teams not only have the opportunity to perform at various competitions and performances around Brisbane and throughout South Queensland, but our performance team members also travel interstate tocompete in competitions. We also strive to offer some levels the opportunity to be able to offer yearly dance camps at local/interstate dance conventions/workshops. We believe exposure to a variety of instructors in the performance arena/master classes is essential for growth of knowledge and learning new methodology. This knowledge then transpires into their own personal discovery of their growth in dance.

Our performance teams have also been given the opportunity in 2014 to travelinternationally to New York City attending the elite dance institutions including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet School, Julliard Ballet School, Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts, Aladdin the Musical Step By Step workshop and much more.

As a studio, we believe supporting community events and associated fundraising is an important quality to share with our studio members. As such, we also encourage our teams to participate in charity events for our local community andalso in greater South East Queensland and beyond.

Our performance teams are also featured in our annual concert as this allows the entire school to see the professionalism and camaraderie that can be achieved by being part of our wonderful performance group teams.

Performance Group Team members are invited by the Principal to join the Performance Group Teams towards the end of each year. For more information about the Brisbane Academy of Dance Performance Group Teams, contact us on info@brisbaneacademyofdance.com.au
